Growing up in The Netherlands, my first visit abroad was a daytrip to Belgium with my family when I was eight years old. Throughout the years I travelled further away and longer in duration, mostly in Europe and Asia. My most memorable journey so far is an around-the-world trip lasting fourteen weeks, visiting countries on five continents.
For me, the highlights of travel are hiking through a stunning landscape (or driving), being amazed by a city's architecture and traffic, watching the world pass by from behind a window on a long train journey, and getting lost in the past while visiting the remains of an ancient world.
So far I have never travelled with a focus on WHS. But some are very hard to miss, so my first count of WHS in June 2022 showed 118 visited sites. My short term WHS-goal is to visit the sites in the Benelux countries.
