Many of the reviews are solely of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, which is understandable as these are the most famous monuments, and only Independence Hall is on the WHS. However, I think to have a truly exceptional experience of the colonial and Federal history of Philadelphia, one has to visit the area of Independence National Historical Park BEHIND and to the east of the landmark. Really, the whole park should be inscribed, including Christ Church, Carpenter's Hall, the First and Second Banks of the US, and the Merchant's Exchange. Honestly, those are all just as beautiful and representative examples of the early government of the US
