Îles volcaniques de Sao Tomé et Principe is part of the Tentative list of Sao Tome and Principe in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The volcanic islands of Sao Tomé and Principe cover national parks and islets associated with both main islands. They present spectacular rock formations, endemic bird species, reptiles, and threatened marine species. As part of the Congolese coastal forests, the lowland rainforests of Sao Tome and Principe are also on the list of threatened terrestrial ecoregions of the world.
