Esrefoglu Mosque
Esrefoglu Mosque is part of the Tentative list of Türkiye in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Esrefoglu Mosque is the biggest, best preserved wooden columned and roofed mosque in Islamic World. The complex also comprises a tomb, caravanserai and a Turkish bath. It dates from the 13th century and was built in the Seljuk tradition.

So this happened: I have already reviewed Eşrefoğlu Mosque as part of the combined Wooden Roofed and Wooden Columned Mosques in Anatolia which was added in 2018 and probably should replace the 2011 listing of the lone mosque and I don't really know what else to add. It's a neat mosque but I don't think it should be UNESCO status. For me it also is annoying to visit these because it means plenty of camera zooming and funny looks from the local caretaker (in this case there was nobody around) to make sure I don't enter the wrong section...
Seeing that this is quite a detour from everything else on the map I recommend you visit the Arslanhane Mosque in Ankara instead if you must go to the wooden roofed mosques.
