Bale Mountains National Park is part of the Tentative list of Ethiopia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Bale Mountains National Park comprises a scenic and diverse Afromontane landscape. The park is divided into five distinct and unique habitats: the Northern Grasslands (Gaysay Valley), Northern Woodlands (Park Headquarters), Afro-alpine Meadows (Sanetti Pleateau), Erica Moorlands, and the Harenna Forest. It is home to the largest global populations of endangered Ethiopian Wolves and Mountain Nyala. The area is also the origin of Ethiopian wild coffee.
